May 28, 2015 (CALGARY AB) – On May 29th Brandon University will award Theoren Fleury an honorary Doctor of Laws, honoris causa. This honour is in recognition for his contributions combating child sexual abuse, and for his outstanding efforts to promote healing and recovery.
The conferring of an honorary Doctor of Laws at Brandon University bestows honour upon a deserving candidate who has made an outstanding contribution in one or more designated categories including the University, society, professional life, public service and the advancement of knowledge.
Convocation ceremony to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29th at Brandon University’s Healthy Living Centre.
This will be Theoren’s second honorary doctorate. Last year, the University of Guelph-Humber bestowed the degree of Doctor of Science (honoris causa) in recognition of Theoren’s commitment to enhancing the psychological health and wellness of Canadians.
